ArcView Network Analyst
The ArcView Network
Analyst extension allows users of ArcView GIS to solve a variety of
problems using geographic networks (i.e., streets, highways, rivers,
pipelines, electric lines, etc). Network Analyst helps find the
most efficient travel routs, generating travel directions, find the
closest facility, or defining service areas based on travel time.
With ArcView Network Analyst can:
- Find the most direct path between two
points.
- Find the optimum route between two
points.
- Find the closest facility.
- Drive time analysis.
- Do mid-arc routing, as opposed to
endpoint-to-endpoint routing.
ArcView Network Analyst also includes a
suite of more advanced network analyst tools that can be accessed
through Avenue requests. Developers will be able to deliver very
sophisticated network analysis. applications based on these extended
capabilities. Currently ArcView Network Analyst is not available
in ArcView 8.1, only ArcView 3.X .
