ArcView Spatial Analyst
ArcView Spatial Analyst works
with raster-based data to perform GIS integrated raster-vector theme
analysis, but
also to overlay, query, and display multiple raster themes.
ESRI's ArcView Spatial Analyst is well suited
for providing GIS solutions to problems that require distance or other continuous surface modeling information. For example, combining
information on slope, as well as the location of roads and property
boundaries to arrive at the best location for a new facility. It
can also derive new information from the overly of multiple theme types.
With ArcView Spatial Analyst you can:
- Convert feature themes to grid themes
- Create continuous surfaces from point
features
- Do cell-based map analysis
- Create density maps from themes
containing point features
- Create contour, slope, and aspect maps
and hillshades of these features
- Create raster buffers
- Do grid classification and display
Spatial Analyst 2 now includes
ModelBuilder, ESRI's new user-friendly technology for building spatial
models. The flow diagrams created with ModelBuilder are not only a
convenient way to construct and modify spatial models but are an
excellent way to document and present one's models to others.
