ArcView 3D Analyst
ArcView 3D Analyst
enables GIS users to create, analyze, and display surface data. You can see
the effect that mountains, valleys, building profiles, and other
three-dimensional object have on data spatial relationships. Create and
modify surface models. Create 3D shapefile themes. ArcView 3D
Analyst includes support for three primary data types for modeling
features in three dimensions-grids, triangulated irregular networks
(TINs), and three-dimensional shapefiles.
ArcView 3D Analyst provides a rich suite
of methods for interactive perspective viewing including pan and zoom,
rotate, tilt, and fly-through simulations. Perspective scenes can
also be quickly converted to VRML for display on the Web. You can
perform view-shed and line-of-sight analysis, couple with spot height
interpolation and profiling.
With ArcView 3D Analyst lets you :
- Generate three-dimensional contours
- Integrated data from computer-aided
design (CAD)
- Create density surfaces from attribute
data
- Perform statistical analysis in three
dimensions
- Build true three-dimensional surface
models from any point data source (including GPS)
- Model real-world surface features such
as buildings
- Model subsurface features-wells,
mines, groundwater, and underground storage facilities
- Perform line-of-sight analysis and
create three-dimensional visibility maps
ArcView 3D Analyst allows any
two-dimensional ArcView GIS theme to be draped onto a three-dimensional
surface (TIN or grid) on the fly!; Converting your data is not
required. You can also drape a variety of image sources (satellite
images, aerial photographs, scanned images) onto surface features.
